That we have allowed the drugging of our children could well prove the final nail in the coffin of our free-falling culture. Unless we knock it off.

The rise of drug-induced acts of violence and suicide in America has rightly caused alarm and what has become tragically obvious is that behind it lies the pharmaceutical campaign to drug more and more of our children at every conceivable pretext.

This drugging, presented as a "cure" for made-up and now proven bogus "mental illnesses," has done inestimable physical and mental harm to untold numbers of kids. For many it has set in train a lifetime of mental health and physical problems brought about by the brain and nerve damage done by these heavily marketed chemicals and it has precipitated an epidemic of teen suicides and shootings.

The cure for this epidemic is blindingly obvious. It is what any humane and civilized society with any desire for a future would do: stop drugging the kids! Stop going for the lazy quick fix and get busy addressing, for example, their allergies and nutritional deficiencies and other physical health issues that always underlie the so-called "mental disorders" but are seldom addressed because there is no profit for the drugs makers in so doing.

The drug makers will fight tooth and nail, of course, to keep their gravy train on the rails. They will stop at nothing to silence, discredit, obscure and otherwise keep from us the very clear and provable truth that nutrition is better medicine than drugs because if that truth becomes general knowledge and people act upon it, the drugs makers will be ruined. They will be ruined because drug sales will fall as people turn to safe, nutrition-based solutions. They will be ruined because people will then be more well and need their "help" even less. And as their dollar might wanes so too will flicker and die their inordinate power over our economy and political establishment. And they know it.

On the other hand, if we let them they will go on drugging our kids, our elderly, our soldiers and indeed, the way things are going, everyone.

If we as parents, teachers and fellow citizens who all have a stake in the future of our civilization, continue to allow kids to be wrecked by drugs, then a bleak future awaits of soaring suicides and schoolyard violence, ill health, obesity, neurosis and all the other side effects for which such drugs are notorious.

It is astounding that we as a society have allowed things to slide as far as they have. It is a dire commentary on our febrile collective irresponsibility towards the generations entrusted to us. How can we allow such things to be done to our own children? How can corporate greed have been given our tacit consent to maim and kill and debilitate? We are faced with the bleak prospect of watching our drugged and apathetic culture submit meekly to decay and the encroaching dark - and, as individuals, of going down into the sticky dark with it.

I say it again: stop drugging the kids!
